Law

I represent ordinary people against institutions with far greater power and resources.

As a partner at Stritmatter Law in Seattle, I have built a plaintiff-side civil rights and complex-tort practice. My work includes cases involving police misconduct, wrongful imprisonment, discrimination, government liability and wrongful death.

Before moving into plaintiff-side litigation, I worked in federal criminal defense and served as a Federal Public Defender. I also teach trial advocacy at Seattle University School of Law.

Poetry taught me to listen closely and to understand how language changes what another person is able to see. Legal advocacy asks me to put that lesson into practice.

Some of my work has unfolded in public. Below is selected coverage of cases that have reached beyond the courtroom and into larger conversations about justice and accountability.
